Downtown Missoula Partnership (DMP)

What Is the DMP?

The Downtown Missoula Partnership (DMP) is an umbrella organization composed of three non-profits: the Missoula Downtown Association, the Business Improvement District, and the Missoula Downtown Foundation. Together, they work to make Downtown Missoula a vibrant place to live, work, play, and explore. DMP's initiatives include organizing local events, managing construction and redevelopment projects, supporting arts activations, and running the Downtown Gift Card Program, which is redeemable at over 200 businesses and retains over $500,000 annually in the local economy.

What Is My Role?

As Operations Coordinator, I manage frontline communications and office operations, serve as the venue manager for Caras Park, coordinate the Downtown Banner Program and Downtown Décor Program, and operate the Downtown Gift Card Program. Additionally, I support annual events, including Holidays on Higgins, Winter Brewfest, Garden City Brewfest, and River City Roots Fest. If something happens at the DMP, I will likely play a role in supporting it.

Key Role Responsibilities

  1. Office Management: Handle frontline communications, Downtown Gift Card services, and office operations (supplies, cleaning, phones).

  2. Organizational Communications: Oversee outgoing PR communications, manage meeting minutes, and assist with website, CRM, and media management.

  3. Caras Park Management: Manage event bookings, contracts, payments, and seasonal staff. Market and promote Caras Park events.

  4. Street Décor Program: Execute the installation of banners, flower baskets, and holiday décor.

  5. Event Planning: Support festivals and events, recruit volunteers, and sell sponsorships.

  6. Media Support: Provide photo, video, and graphic design support to the team. Assist with the execution and implementation of the new DMP brand.

Pathlabs

What Is Pathlabs?

Pathlabs is an end-to-end Media Execution Partner (MEP) designed for agencies. It specializes in planning, executing, optimizing, and reporting on performance-driven paid advertising campaigns. Pathlabs empowers agencies to focus on growth while they handle media execution.

What was my role?

I began as an intern and transitioned into a full-time Marketing Specialist role focused on content creation. During my time, I wrote over 100 pieces, including blogs, case studies, eBooks, and social media content.

What is the Blackstone LaunchPad?

The Blackstone LaunchPad is the entrepreneurial hub at the University of Montana. It provides students and community members with resources, mentorship, and opportunities to explore entrepreneurship and develop their ventures. The program focuses on fostering innovation through four core initiatives:

  • Venture Coaching: Trained students to serve as peer coaches, assisting others on campus and within the community to brainstorm ideas and connect with resources to start businesses and ventures.

  • Events and Competitions: Organized multiple events promoting entrepreneurial exploration and career readiness, including Idea Challenges, Passion Challenges, Business Startup Challenges, and the Big Sky Experience.

  • Project Support Internships: Established this program to recruit students and pair them with local entrepreneurs for semester-long internships, allowing students to gain valuable experience while providing entrepreneurs with additional support.

  • Microcredentials: Launched a microcredentialing program to complement existing initiatives. Participants earned points for engaging in programs and received badges upon reaching milestones.

What Was My Role?

I oversaw all of the core programs mentioned above, ensuring their success through careful planning, execution, and evaluation. In addition, I managed day-to-day operations and handled communications, including website management, social media, newsletters, and outreach. My responsibilities also included guest speaking, classroom presentations, recruitment, HR tasks, office management, and community engagement.

  • Worked closely with the program director to create resources, events, competitions, and workshops supporting University of Montana students and community members exploring entrepreneurship.

  • Conceptualized, planned, and facilitated over 20 large-scale events during tenure.

  • Conducted University-community-wide outreach to enhance program awareness and engagement.

  • Designed and managed the organization's website, social media profiles, newsletter, and merchandise.

The DHC provides a combination of curricular and co-curricular opportunities designed to enrich students' academic, personal, and professional growth.

What Was My Role?

As the Office Administrator, I served as the first point of contact for the Dean’s Office, handling a wide range of office operations and communications. Post-COVID, I assumed the lead role of social media manager, where I revitalized the college's digital presence to engage the community effectively.

Key Role Responsibilities 

  • Constructed and distributed weekly newsletters to an audience list of 1,200 honors college students and community members.

  • Served as the primary point of contact for the administrative offices of the dean, assistant dean, and advisors.

  • Recruited and coached students and faculty to facilitate weekly Instagram takeovers, driving a 40% follower increase on social media.

Montana High Tech Business Alliance (MHTBA)

What Is the MHTBA?

The Montana High Tech Business Alliance (MHTBA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to fostering responsible growth in Montana's high-tech sector. This rapidly expanding industry is growing seven times faster than the state economy and generates $2.9 billion in annual revenue. The MHTBA provides resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy to support the continued success of high-tech businesses in Montana.

What Was My Role?

As the Marketing, Social Media, and Jobs Intern, I took charge of the Alliance's website and social media efforts, managed the jobs board, assisted in planning and executing major events, and supported data reporting initiatives.

Serving areas like Lolo, Frenchtown, Bonner, Hamilton, Stevensville, and Seeley Lake, the company is known for its high-quality service, reliability, and comprehensive offerings, including window and gutter cleaning, chandelier and light fixture cleaning, mirror and glass cleaning, and more.

What Was My Role?

As a Route Supervisor, I played a dual role in performing hands-on window cleaning services and overseeing daily operations. I managed a team of three, optimized routes for efficiency, and ensured client satisfaction for contracts ranging from $250 to $20,000.
